Our Journey
Discover the story behind our farm's passion.
Weaving a Legacy
We're a small, family farm with a long history of raising livestock. Our journey began in 2011, and that passion for hands-on work has only grown since.
Our Dedication
Our mission is to produce top-quality, full-blood Valais Blacknose sheep. Every animal is evaluated, and we use a modern, ethical approach with no shortcuts.
- Breeding Excellence: We’ve spent years researching and gaining hands-on experience, always expanding our knowledge.
- Genetic Sourcing: We've imported full-blood embryos and semen to ensure a strong genetic foundation for our flock.
- Breeding Methods: We work closely with veterinarians on successful embryo transfers and AI protocols.
Our Expertise
With over 14 years in the livestock industry, we’ve learned what it takes to raise healthy sheep.
- Flock Health: Our comprehensive program focuses on nutrition, disease prevention, and parasite control.
- Lambing Prep: We follow strict protocols to ensure our ewes and lambs have the best possible start.
- Recipients: We carefully select quality ewes to be recipients in our breeding programs.
Meet the Founders
Jay and I are originally are from West Virginia. We actually met here in Deland Florida. Jay is a graduate of Deland High School. I am a Graduate of Point Pleasant High, Point Pleasant, WV. Jay's family moved to Florida when he was 4 and pretty much grew up in the city. I however am a coal miner's daughter and grew up on a farm in WV. We have a total of 8 children and 11 grandchildren.
We fostered children including special needs for 10 years, which God blessed us when we added 5 of them to our family. Two are autistic and one is severely delayed. Fostering was an amazing time in our life. Many children passed through our home and blessed us. We especially liked working with autistic children. I had a saying that it was like unzipping them and letting the inner child come out. If fostering is something you have ever thought about, follow your heart. There are so many children who need a loving home to be placed in while they are going through a frightening and troubling time of their life. If they are with you a day, week, month, or a year you have the chance to forever touch and change their lives.
We moved to De Leon Springs in 2011 and started our farm with a couple of Alpacas and fell in love. We added exotics along the way with our other animals
In spring of 2025 we welcomed micro mini Highlands.
In 2019 when Valais started being imported, we were interested at the time. We began researching them. We have always been fascinated with the Valais breed.
I feel God led us down our path to Fred of Valais Black Nose of Lovers Lane. After several visits to his farm and countless phone conversation, we have been given the honor of purchasing many of his flock. We will be continuing on with his protocol of producing healthy, superior genetics, and outstanding conformation with our Valais.
